6 Months along

These pictures may not look very different than the last set, but I did get a cut a few days ago which got rid of some of the dye on the top so it looks more silver now.  I am liking the ombre, or should I say omgray.  I am thinking that I might be done in 8 more months.

The silver looks brighter in these pictures because of the light that is hitting it.

5 1/2 months

Received my first comment today about my hair. At the checkout counter at my local grocery store, the woman commented on how brave I was that I was growing out my gray and that it looked really nice.  She always told herself that she would continue to color her hair until they through dirt on her but now you never know after seeing me.  So that was certainly positive.

5 Months along

No, I didn't cut it, I just have it pulled back since it is hot here today,  And pulling it back shows more of the silver.  That way people have a better idea that I am doing this on purpose as opposed to just being lazy.  I have read that at the 6 month mark it can look like nothing is happening.  Not sure I am going to feel that way, will let you know.

I am really liking the color that is coming in and I am not minding the "blorange" as they call it, on the ends.

Have been experimenting with make up.  I am trying a new foundation and concealer, a bit pricey, but feels like nothing on and gives a nice light coverage and good SPF coverage.  It is the Perricone Md  "No Foundation Foundation Serum" as well as the "No Concealer Concealer".  If you can get a sample of them, they are worth a try.

Me and my grays celebrating my birthday

Celebrating 58 today and what better way to do it than with family, cake and champagne.  Gilbert took the pictures and I thought to add them here since it shows how the grays are looking.  I am now at 4 1/2 months since the last dye.  Doesn't seem to be that much progress, still working on my patience.  What I am noticing is that I am growing back some hairs around my hairline that used to not be there.  Dying really was doing a job destroying them.

4 Months now

Showing a few more pictures this time.  Took some inside and the others outside so you can see the difference the light makes on how the silvers show up.  Before this I had never taken a selfie, and now every month that is all you see on my phone, pretty funny.  I just went and had my hair trimmed, my stylist is just as excited as I am to see the progression of silvers showing through.  She would have loved to cut it short so all I had was silver, but told her that she had to be on the "patience" bandwagon with me since I want to keep it long.  She and I feel that it will be another 4 months before the area that I have layered and feathered is all silver.  I am also seeing some new growth in areas along my hairline.  Guess the dye was destroying them.

Another thing that I have started doing is adding a warm grey color along with my brown to my eyebrows since more silver is showing around my face.  Still haven't started wearing lipstick, for some reason it seems silly to put it on when I am working outside, silly I know.

3 months and 1 week

Happy with the way my hair is coming along.  I tried the coconut oil treatment a few days ago and I am pretty pleased with what it did.  Made my hair shiny as well as gave it some body.  What I did was put about a tablespoon of the oil - which is in solid form - throughout my hair.  Wrapped it in a towel and let it be for about an hour to hour 1/2. Then washed it  - shampooed it twice to make sure that all of the oil was out and then put conditioner in (I know, sounds crazy to do that since I just "conditioned" it - but rather be safe than sorry)
Clipped my hair back today because it is hot here as well as I wanted to see more silver

11 weeks and counting

Starting to see a lot more silver.  Haven't encountered too many stares from people, could be because when I go out I wear my sunglasses on top of my head.  I don't have the face for headbands, plus when I would try to wear them they would give me a headache.  So sunglasses it is.  Or a baseball cap, depending on what condition my hair is that day.
I also found that taking pictures outside is better for showing the silvers.  Was finally able to do that today after a week of rain.
