4 Months now

Showing a few more pictures this time.  Took some inside and the others outside so you can see the difference the light makes on how the silvers show up.  Before this I had never taken a selfie, and now every month that is all you see on my phone, pretty funny.  I just went and had my hair trimmed, my stylist is just as excited as I am to see the progression of silvers showing through.  She would have loved to cut it short so all I had was silver, but told her that she had to be on the "patience" bandwagon with me since I want to keep it long.  She and I feel that it will be another 4 months before the area that I have layered and feathered is all silver.  I am also seeing some new growth in areas along my hairline.  Guess the dye was destroying them.

Another thing that I have started doing is adding a warm grey color along with my brown to my eyebrows since more silver is showing around my face.  Still haven't started wearing lipstick, for some reason it seems silly to put it on when I am working outside, silly I know.

3 months and 1 week

Happy with the way my hair is coming along.  I tried the coconut oil treatment a few days ago and I am pretty pleased with what it did.  Made my hair shiny as well as gave it some body.  What I did was put about a tablespoon of the oil - which is in solid form - throughout my hair.  Wrapped it in a towel and let it be for about an hour to hour 1/2. Then washed it  - shampooed it twice to make sure that all of the oil was out and then put conditioner in (I know, sounds crazy to do that since I just "conditioned" it - but rather be safe than sorry)
Clipped my hair back today because it is hot here as well as I wanted to see more silver

11 weeks and counting

Starting to see a lot more silver.  Haven't encountered too many stares from people, could be because when I go out I wear my sunglasses on top of my head.  I don't have the face for headbands, plus when I would try to wear them they would give me a headache.  So sunglasses it is.  Or a baseball cap, depending on what condition my hair is that day.
I also found that taking pictures outside is better for showing the silvers.  Was finally able to do that today after a week of rain.

8 1/2 weeks - more silver to gaze at

Starting to really see it coming in.  I told my hairstylist that I had stopped coloring and she is really excited to see how it is going to look.  Makes it a lot easier to have her on my side.

7 weeks

I am really starting to see the gray now.  More so when I lift my hair, but in the sun it is really exciting.

6 Weeks in

I have to say that I am excited by the little that is showing so far.  I can't wait for it all to grow in.  6 weeks down, have many more months to go.  I have been on a few websites and FB pages that are all about the journey to going gray and they have been really inspirational.  I haven't gone out in public that much yet so it will be interesting to see people's reactions.  When I have been out, I have my sunglasses on top of my head so it masks the progression so far.

And so it begins

Well, this has been a long time coming.  I have been thinking about stopping coloring my hair for a few years now.  And finally I am ready to commit to doing it.  Enough is enough. I hate being slave to the top of my head.  Now the big question will be, can I stay the path.  I have read many peoples journey and how they handled the grow out.  Not sure which one I will choose, but I have some wide headbands waiting in the wings.

The pictures here are of my start.  My last time I dyed my hair was March 23rd.  Let the grays begin!
